Hey there optiboard goers. I just worked with a patient that wanted comically large sunglasses. She asked me if I thought they were to big. I, of course, expressed that I did think they were big and perhaps a smaller frame for her might be more proportionate. She hemmed and hawed and went back and forth between three mammoth, whacky, laughable frames and chose the biggest. They were ghastly. Truly awful looking. I can understand if the patient was whimsical or silly or hair brained or nonsensical in some way but she appeared pretty grounded as a person. I like to think I have a good sense of these things. I brought over several female employees to help guide us through this sale. I explained to the female opticians that I did not understand what the patient was going for and they said "don't worry baby we got this". I observed as they went back and forth complimenting her choices and style frames that she picked out trying to grasp how and why these immense frames looked so good on such a tiny person.
So, I need you to take me to school on this. I simply do not understand women's sunglass fashion. Can someone please explain this to me?
Kindest regards,
Eric
