Essilor Reports 14.5% Jump In Q3 Revenue; Backs Full-year Goals
Today
(RTTNews.com) - French eye-care firm Essilor International SA (ESLOF.PK, ESLOY.PK) Thursday said its third-quarter consolidated revenue climbed 14.5 percent to 1.620 billion euros from last year's 1.415 billion euros.
The increase included an 8 percent positive currency effect, mainly from the rise in the US dollar against the euro, and a 1.7 percent increase from changes in the scope of consolidation. On a like-for-like basis, revenue grew 4.8 percent.
The company witnessed sustained robust growth in North America and Europe, led by the stepped-up consumer marketing campaigns.
Faster growth of 9.9 percent was seen in the Sunglasses & Readers division, the biggest gain since the division was created in 2010.
The company backed its full-year goal of revenue growth between 8 and 11 percent, excluding the currency effect, and in excess of 4.5 percent on a like-for-like basis.
Essilor still expects a contribution from operations equal to at least 18.8 percent of revenue.
